They are the Beach Patrol at the Marina beach. They are responsible for the safety of the general public who visit the beach.
I am regular visitor to marina, most of the time there are regular incidents of children missing. On Thursday the 12th of may,I had gone to the beach with my family and while we were there we saw a lady in her 20′s (probably from the southern dist) crying and was roaming here and there .when we en quired she said she had come with her husband and child that her 5 yr old child is missing and her husband had gone searching for the child. There was no one to help or guide the lady,so I told her to complain the matter to the police or the beach patrol immediately.Since hardly there was any beach patrol to be seen ,the lady approached the cops who were handling the traffic in the inner road of marina and complained to them but in vain they were not much response,In fact the lady had wasted nearly 30 min. Then after a while the lady’s husband came to her and they both again went in pursuit in finding their child
This incident really shows how the system of beach patrol actually is.There are day to day incidents happening at Marina where children are missing and how the people who come to Marina for enjoying finally end up dejected
SUGGESTIONS-I would like to make certain suggestions like,
1-Post police booths equipped with wireless and cc tv facilities on the beach at all entry points.Beach should be properly illuminated and there should be vigilance cameras.
2-Erect sign boards at all possible places regarding-whom and how to contact at times of emergencies.
